Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree from the department of English Literature. Mitchell started her career as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in the year 1967. Mitchell joined CBS affiliate WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News a year later. Beginning in 1981, she began reporting on the White House and became chief Congress correspondent in 1988. Then, in 1992 she was appointed Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 chief foreign affairs reporter of NBC News. Mitchell has appeared at times on TV news show Meet the Press as a panelist and host. She was on the panel in 1988's presidential debates that pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and in 2004 in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering for the White House for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 during the entirety of Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell reported on many noteworthy stories including arms control, tax reforms to the budget and also the Iran Contra scandal.
